FRONTIER PROJECT Impact
FP Impact is a sacrificial year given over to learning more about God, getting a passion for the nations and having your life turned upside down!
FP Impact offers an all round training package that equips people to think, act and live biblically, providing a unique mixture of theological teaching, skills training, church-based project work and personal discipleship.
The Full Year Option is a full-time training programme lasting from September to the following June. For those who are unable to give up a whole year to join an FP team, we also offer a Short-Term Option (details on application form) which provides intensive training in specific subject areas over a 3-4 month period. Students on the short-term teams are able to access the same theological and skills training as those on the one year option for that period. The syllabus has been structured so that each short-term team will receive training that is relevant to its specific focus.
The two elements of training for both options are:
• Theological teaching and study, combined with skills training. Spread across the academic year, this element provides a systematic theological framework, covering all major doctrines. The skills training covers church planting, working with disadvantaged people, youth and student work. Senior Newfrontiers leaders give students first hand vision and values in an informal and interactive style, with time for questions and discussion. Learning is followed up with assignments.
• Project work based in a Newfrontiers church. Students receive personal discipleship, hands-on training and support throughout the project.
Students may be based in their home Newfrontiers church or opt to go to another UK Newfrontiers church to widen their experience. They may work on a new or existing project, on their own or with other FP Impact students. Throughout the year, students meet together at training bases for residential training. There are assignments to be completed in between training periods.
Newfrontiers churches throughout the UK can host a Project. Opportunities for additional training abroad are also being developed, giving experience of other cultures and overseas churches.
What will you get out of it? The overall objective of the course is that you will develop in three main areas.
1. Knowledge The theological training serves all academic backgrounds and will equip students to understand the Bible and help students to think biblically. Subjects covered include: • Major doctrines • Old and New Testament overview • Setting People Free course • The Kingdom of God • Grace and Law
2. Character Every student is mentored in Christian character. Students will be helped to grow in Christian disciplines and encouraged in their relationship with God, their fellowship with other Christians and their witness to the world.
3. Skills Students will serve and work in a local church. Each project will have a focused area and students will also get opportunities to serve in other areas of church life. Each project has a leader, some are in teams, others are individuals working alongside leaders or church staff teams.
